Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Sugar Cookies

Well, it has been a while since I posted.  In November I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  From that point forward things moved very quickly.  Now I know what Dorothy felt like in that tornado – things whirling in fast motion and taking you to a place you weren’t expecting.  Except I didn’t go to see the Wizard, I got to see lots of doctors. For what it is, I feel very blessed.  I

Christmas Sugar Cookies

It’s been a while since I’ve posted.  November and December were a whirlwind for me, but that will be another post.   During life’s disruptions I did manage to make some Christmas cookies.  I stuck with what I considered to be very basic and easy to create designs.  I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and I hope that the new year brings many blessings and much joy for all of us.

Voila… a Cookie Cutter

So the other day I made a D cookie cutter for the college logo sugar cookies I did for the local college.  I decided to make another cookie cutter for the logo of a local high school.  It’s a pretty simple cookie cutter so I thought I would take pictures of the process so you can see how easy it is to make a cookie cutter. Here is the logo I will be making

Because I’m Batman….

I have a friend whose daughter loves Batman and Halloween.  My friend wanted me to do a small cookie bouquet for her daughter and she wanted a Halloween theme along with a Batman theme.  At first we thought about doing some Halloween sugar cookies and then include a batman sugar cookie.  But I thought there had to be something a little more creative than doing that.  Then it finally hit me – why not incorporate the

Sugar Cookies for Boy Birthday Party

I had someone ask me to do sugar cookies for their son’s 7th birthday.  Our conversation started off by her asking “You can do anything as a cookie, right?”  I was a little hesitant to answer that question, so I gave my standard answer of “I will do the best I can”.  She said her son was really into Beyblades.  I had never heard of them and actually what I heard the first time

Choose The Right Sugar Cookie

I made some cookies for my niece’s baptism (well, actually I think she is really my great-niece).  She turned 8 and was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  The cookie is a shield with the letters CTR, which stands for Choose the Right.  Of course, I had to make them in her favorite colors – pink and purple. CTR Sugar Cookies I decided to try some with sugar to give

Baby Shower Sugar Cookies

I was asked to do cookies for a baby shower.  Because the invitations to the baby shower were turtles, we decided to do turtle cookies. Invitation and Sugar Cookie It was fun trying to match the colors – I must admit that one of my weaknesses is mixing colors – experimenting with combining colors to create just the perfect color.  But I guess that will come with practice.   I would love to hear any suggestions or great

Cupcakes and Balloons

Well, it’s been a while since I posted last – a lot of things have happened and one of those things included someone’s birthday.  My sister was visiting and decided to take a cookie bouquet back for her daughter that was having her 35th birthday.  We decided on cupcakes and balloons.  Because she was flying I made the cookies, packaged them up for her and she took them home and assembled the bouquet herself.
